Pharmacy Association of Nova Scotia

The Pharmacy Association of Nova Scotia approached us in December of 2010 with a job. They had been trying to get their website redesigned for over a year but weren’t have any luck with the developer they hired. They hired us on to work with their current design but to redevelop the site from scratch.

We cleaned the design up a bit, changing it from three columns to two columns and adding a latest news/social media button area to the sidebar. We also cleaned up the menu system a bit to make it easier to change, but we avoided making any significant changes as their board of directors had already approved the design.

We then moved the design to WordPress, our platform of choice. We built in a nice contact form, and moved over all of their content. We then proceeded to build a blog and integrate it with the rest of the website.

Course Registrations

After we finished the website, PANS was very happy with our work and hired us on to do a bit more. They wanted a course registration system where they could have courses with various options and a guess could signup for a course and pay using PayPal or Credit Card.

We built this system and integrated it into the existing website as well as WordPress, making it super simple and intuitive to add courses, options and change pricing. We also built a powerful tool that allowed them to search, sort, and filter (by course/option) the registrants that had paid, add new registrants manually, and export all of the data to Microsoft Excel.

Standards of Practice

Another small job from PANS, they wanted an extensive 60 page PDF converted to a fully searchable HTML version and placed on their website. We ended up manually doing this to ensure proper formatting, and we linked all relevant text to the appropriate page. For example, any reference to a specific section would link to that section’s page. This made it extremely easy to navigate and find what you were looking for (This is only available to PANS members unfortunately).

PANS Careers

PANS wanted the ability to post new job oppurtunites to their website and have it organized and integrated with everything else. This was a small and fun little project, and we integrated it tightly with their existing backend, making it super simple to add and edit job postings.
