APSI is a company owned and operated by PANS, so when we finished the website for PANS they asked if we could work on APSI, the pricing database used by pharmacies in Atlantic Canada. They had been trying to move the system to the web for several years, but had no luck with the previous three developers. We happily agreed as PANS was a fantastic client.
We met with the one person who knew APSI inside and out a couple of times to go over the system and understand how it worked. It was a complicated application in and of itself, and the software they were using didn’t help.
We set to work programming the system, and updating APSI every step of the way to ensure we were doing everything the way they wanted. It worked with other software vendors in a few cases to help them prepare for the changes (They had systems designed to work with the old database), and we tried to accommodate them the best we could.
Recently we completed APSI and launched the new service. We’ve had hundreds of registrations and have added several new features and functionality since the website launched, and currently have a long term maintenance contract in place with APSI to maintain and update the site as required.
This project saved the staff at PANS & APSI hundreds of hours a year in working with outdated software, manually processing registrations, and entering long lists of price changes.
